Besides with the likes of WWE and TNA doing shows there now, I wonder if DWOW can afford it --- frankly I wonder if thats what happened with the other event that got cancelled there --- prices went up. Anyway, so MOD I think you can say this without ruining your announcement, is alhambra still being considered as a possible venue for fist events at all? To answer your questions... WWE and TNA running the building didn't so much raise the rental, as did the complete overhaul and production set up. So while it does cost more money to run the building before it became The New Alhambra, it's a reasonable buy none-the-less. Yes, The New Alhambra is still being considered for an upcoming DWOW event. MOD.

Based on what I've seen on the old TV show, an arena setting looks far better than a bar. Louie It always amazes us who likes what. We have a ton of people who like the intimate bar show settings and we have the other people who like the "big" show feel of the arena. I think both are great venues when used properly. I would be for all the "house" type shows to be at bars and clubs, while the "blow off" (feud ending matches take place) shows would be at the arena or armory. MOD.

Ok um, to clarify, there is no event upcoming before say the middle of august?
I can understand this is a big deal for the company, though I don't see that it has much impact on your current fans.

The current fans are going to stick with the product no matter what. This is very good news for DWOW expanding its exposure. Congrats!

You know, do something good and people shit on you regardless. The company is expanding. It is not only good for new fans, but current ones alike! Don't you want the world to see what you've been experiencing? When I like something, I usually want everyone to know about it, except when it comes to a driving short cut! lol I remember when the TV Show Fastlane was on. I caught the show by accident and became a huge fan of the show (mainly the production end of it). I told EVERYONE about it.. and it gets canceled. I probably caught on to late to make a difference. But I have all the shows on divx, so I'm happy with it! I still talk about the show to this day, in fact I told a friend about it this past week. All you're worried about is another live show? Trust me there may be plenty more live shows announced soon. More than you will probably be able to attend! SG

Ok look I didn't mean to rain on the damn parade!
I've just been sitting around here waiting for an announcement for what a week at least, thinking it was an event, and its this.
Frankly I don't even understand why the build up was needed, or even why it was done.
I'm happy to hear their may be more shows announced soon, and you're probably right about me not being able to attend them, since I don't live in the PHL region, I have to fly in.
I guess I am interested to see what kind of DVDs come out --- hopefully not the watered down release that some other women's company got out of their big distribution deal.
Fastlane is being rerun constantly on G4.
Cancelled is always a relative term. It was planned to shoot only 13 episodes, and they did a full 22 I think it was. The show had really high production costs and fox didn't want to continue it unless it was like a top 5 show. Top 10 wasn't good enough. I prefer to think in my own mind the show just "ended" --- though of course the ending to the final episode doesn't really suggest that, which is I guess the big problem. Too bad they couldn't do a made for TV movie or something to wrap it up.

A small addendum --- to that end, I think you should focus on the future with these DVDs. You think we bitch about the original GI ho being gone now? Wait until bunches of new people are doing the same thing. I mean won't it be hard to attract new people to the product of all the peple in the old stuff you release (if thats what happens) are gone?
On the other hand, perhaps you can make enough money to re-sign some of these old people. Though, I of course don't know in all their cases (isis, tai, GI, others) if money was always the issue, or they were let go by choice.

First off, congratulations on the DVD deal. I've been around the business end of the wrestling world long enough to know how big of a deal that really is, even if the fans don't quite understand. Getting your DVD's on HighSpots is one thing...getting them into mainstream venues like FYE, Sam Goodys, etc. is monumental. Now people don't have to actually be looking for your product, they can find it accidentally while looking through the WWE DVD's, buy a copy for the hell of it, and BAM...you have a new fan. Getting into the mainstream market is one of the smartest...and unfortunately hardest....things that any up and coming wrestling promotion can do. So again, congrats! You all have worked your asses off to get to this point, and you deserve it.
I do have to agree somewhat with that turbodood said though. If you focus on releasing the old content, you're going to be shooting yourselves in the foot. Yes, you'll make money off the DVD's, but you'll also have people looking for something that doesn't exsist anymore. I hate to make this analogy, but if people are introduced to Brit the Schoolgirl, Isis, G.I. Ho, etc. and they fall in love with those characters, they are going to be disappointed when they see the new product. I'm not saying that the old is better than the new...it's just different...just like the new ECW. The people that have never seen the old ECW, never thrilled to Raven vs. Dreamer, never seen the Sandman, RVD, Sabu, etc. in their heyday aren't disappointed (as much) with the new ECW as those of us that got a chance to see the real thing.
None of what I said is meant to put down the new DWOW either. My point is, you have a clean slate. A whole new world of consumers that have never heard of G.I. Ho or the rest, and maybe for the sake of future growth...they never should. That's just my opinion, but either way, I know I'll be standing in line at FYE the first day that any DWOW DVD comes out!

Points taken! Very well said also! However, this is not solely about the money, believe it or not. One of the things the founders of this project have always said and wanted was for our “original” product to be seen on a National, or even International level. DWOW did break a lot of ground with our off the wall antics of just pure and utter mayhem. A lot of people never had the chance to witness our product the first time around. Another Women’s company currently have National Pay Per View and DVDs out there. Not to say they’re fake or bad, but it is not the original concept that made this product really stand out from everyone else as just a pure entertaining product. As far as the people who are here and who are not, we do understand your points. For the record the new crew is still developing and it isn’t complete, we know that! However, if say DWOW had a National Cable deal and Pay Per View, do you think that not only would certain people want back in, they would be begging, let alone all the others trying to get in on it? Remember for whatever reasons, the above mention decided they didn’t want to work DWOW (not the other way around) and that we can respect that, for whatever their reasons. Let people fall in love with DWOW for whatever reasons. Who knows maybe their love of the product, brings the product back together for one last run… all together! Hmmm… Sound a little ECW-ish too! lol If for nothing else, G.I. Ho, Elle Mae, Tai “Killer” Weed, Brittney “The School Girl”, Steve “The Sound Guy”, The Smoke, Lady Storm, Dan Kowal and the list goes on and on… all deserve this National spotlight, as each have given some of their best performances in a DWOW ring and we want to share it with the World! So to all of you reading… all joking and wrestling aside… WE TRULY APPRECIATE ALL YOUR SUPPORT THROUGH THE YEARS AND HOPE YOU CONTINUE ON THE JOURNEY WITH US, TO WHEREVER IT MAY TAKE US. Sincerely, Thank you. The Staff of The Dangerous Women of Wrestling

Check out some of the stores carrying the debut DWOW National DVD... I have listed almost a dozen links under the "DVDS & VIDEOS" heading under "Extremely Dangerous Women of Wrestling".
Check out what MOD. wrote today about it...
Also, BUY your DWOW from one of the links enclosed in this thread, as we noticed the price is a "pre-sale" price. The retail list price is $19.99. We have seen the DVD as low as 12.97 on one of the links. We also notice that the price of the DVD has begun to increase on certain sites, as the official release date draws closer. Also, if you order online now, you can get it cheaper and most places offer FREE SHIPPING too! How can you go wrong with that!

Awesome!
All I have to say is this is the kind of exposure women in wrestling need.
That means people all over the country, which most womens fans are kinda spread out, they get the opportunity to purchase and see with thier own eyes a promotion that they would not normally know about. That gives us more fans, more interest.
Most womens promotions serve to the family audience, and therefore not to thier fans. DWOW goes for an older audience, an audience who spends money, and loves to see the women be animated, and wild. No having to "tone it down" for the kids, no worring about who we offend.
I am proud to work for DWOW, it challenges me, its been good to me, and I always have a great time.
All I have to say is when the hell are we having another show?
