I'm going to assume since you didn't state otherwise that location is correct.
Unfortunatly like you said $400 was a lot to spend, had to cut corners somewhere. Used priceline and got a hotel up near the race track. They don't have any shuttles. The doubletree was $140 per night.

Well at least you aren't staying the city! That trip won't be too bad for you, plus you'll be safe.

I'm going to assume you mean the area nearby alfie is a relatively safe neighborhood and I'm not likely to get mugged or killed standing around waiting for a bus/cab afterwards.
You're right though, the way the buses are layed out up there it would have taken almost 2 hours to get downtown at that time of night.

I don't know about up there, but down here you ain't gettin' a bus at 2 AM. I would think (hope) you'll be able to strike up a conversation/friendship once inside and possibly arrange to get a ride back to your hotel from somebody after the show. I'll tell ya.... I'd give you a ride if I was going to be there but I'm not. It sounds like it will be a good night and there will be a big crowd. Get there early and watch the whole scene develop and the mayhem that follows. You will enjoy it.

I'm afraid my social skills are rather poor paul. I've never had much like drumming up rides that way in the past.
2am? I asked how long it was gonna run and didn't get much of an answer. Seeing has how basically all the DWOW DVDs are like an hour, I thought long would mean 2 hours, heh. Either way though it won't really matter. Taking the bus would mean walking over a mile in the dark, so I'll probably take a cab.
I actually which it was over earlier so I could hit one of the strip bars before they all close at 2.
I also thought I might have time to hit up one of the places before going, but with all of Mod's threats about people being turned away, it seems I can't do that either. Mod if you're overstating that at all or something, PM me please.

Fans and media have been shocked with the last minute booking and announcement of a Dangerous Women of Wrestling live event show scheduled to take place in Northeast Philadelphia at Alfie’s Restaurant and Nightclub, Friday, August 31st 2007, due to the fact that back in May of this year DWOW “released” their talent to work for other companies, and basically disbanded the company soon after. The guy buys all your DVD's and is one of the few who posts on your board. He's probably your BIGGEST fan, or at least has to be near top, and you can't help the guy out?? Hopefully, your post is "In Character" and you had the good business sense to PM him and offer to have one of the production guys hop on over to Street Road and give him a ride to and from the show. Plus, it wouldn't have killed you to throw him a credential and get him in the back. If anybody deserves a "Perk" it's Turbo. There'll be plenty of guys back there that aren't presently associated with the show, Local workers as well as old associates. You mean to tell me that if Jeffrey J. or Eric show up, you're not gonna allow them in the back? Yeah, right. C'mon. Take Care of the guy! Louie

Thanks for the words louie.
Honestly I really wanted to come. But at the end of they day I didn't plan it very well and I couldn't subject myself to well, lets see. Basically leaving the house before noon, and essentially spend the following 10 hours either in transit or sitting around waiting for it to start. Not to mention how much it was going to cost. Even though I got the southwest air fare back I did have to eat the hotel part, which sucks. Thats not even mentioning the fact that my return itinerary was basically going to be even longer. The fact that there was such little notice basically made the flight selection very limited.
Still, its sort of disconcering, this was the 3rd show I tried to attend. The first got cancelled, the second I had to cancel because of a family emergency, this one well, was my own damn fault for even trying to go in the first place.
I don't know why I feel the need to defend myself, but again sorry for cluttering up the board.
Hopefully this show will be successful enough that there will be another one sooner rather than later, and will have more notice and well, in that instance I will certainly make an effort to attend.
P.S.
That last release posted this morning did not mention GI ho. I'm certainly going to be interested to know if she was there. .. oh and if it actually ran till 2am.

I personally don't know if I want results. They should be able to fasttrack VODs of the individual matches or something thats what I was hoping for (particularly one involving gi ho if it happened)

Ok few things mod. There is no mention of gi ho or tai, nor any mention of oil matches.
Were they there and just weren't in matches or is this just not a "detailed" results list?
