Well, hm... I listened up to the part where the show cuts out during the Tara vs Barroom Barbie match.
My opinion... Hm. Well, I'll keep things positive because I absolutely love this company. The show should have been a visual thing to start things off. There's no point listening to the commentators talking about a match. It reminds me of watching the show when it has a red X across the screen. It would have been nice to see Eric and Steve sitting down and talking. Maybe have Steve smoking a cigarette and getting an attitude with Eric, like he was but it's better visually.
Eric can make anything seem better than it is. He really knows how to come up with things on the fly and presented himself well.
Steve got to cuss and not get bleeped out, that was a good thing.
The music coming on a little early before the break was irritating. The beat was tight but Steve was trying to talk about GI Ho and the music basically took out his voice. I donno, I couldn't really understand anything being said once the music started playing.

Eric is one of the best commenators in the business. Sound Guy also provided some excellent color (or should I say off-color) commentary that made the show 200% better. It was hard to focus on the matches without actually being able to see them and the music did drown out the guys a couple of times. Yes, I am actually complaining about The Sound Guy not being heard. Never thought I would say that. Please keep up the great work and I look forward to hearing the next broadcast.

One more quick question, How about a forum on this board specifically for questions to be answered on the radio show itself?

For the record, the company is trying something a little different. People these days are spoiled with all the TV and cable channels to choose from. What's it called A.D.D.?!?! Remember that there are alot of people who did not see those matches, nor the tv show. The producers were hoping to spark some imagination from the audience, whether they were listening at their pc, driving in their car or listening on their mp3 player. Like Eric stated, he thought it was "groundbreaking". It may or may not be. I admit it's not 100% polished or perfect and if they get another opportunity to do it, I'm sure certain issues will be addressed. But for the record, I was entertained by it.

As far as groundbreaking, it's not. The Tampa area used to have an hour-long weekend radio show for years on a local talk radio station. But what I've heard of DWOW's program it's been quite good so far. I still gotta go through all of it though.

Yeah, there are wrestling radio shows and I stopped listening to those about 8 months ago because it got so boring.
I just want to see DWOW get back on their feet and actually like you know, wrestle and stop talking about the past.

Well after finishing the whole hour here's my full report. I have to warn you I work in talk radio so I'll probably be a good bit more critical than the average listener. I broke down my review into what I felt was good, what was bad, and the stuff i know is just me being nit-picky.
GOOD: Starting with what I felt was the best parts, the background on the wrestlers was great. Having Eric and the SG tell us stuff we cannot possibly know (who left and why; what happened backstage at this show) is a reason in itself to listen to the program and it should be put in every radio show. The radio show needs something original and intereging and telling us about talent background is perfect.
Answering the questions posted on this board is another great idea. It adds a personal touch and draws the listeners in. Another good segment that makes you want to listen to the prgram.
There was a nice flow between Eric and the SG, neither one trippng the other up nor trying to "one up" the other when they were tossing fun insults back and forth.
Admitting the bad points about the company. Specifically I recall Eric mentioning that DWOW is "full of strippers, but we have real wrestlers too." Honesty always works, don't try to gloss over what you are, people will see through it every time. Plus it guantees to avoid a full on self-ass-kissing which too many people in radio do.
The match flashbacks added some good action and broke up it from being a dry program of just Eric and SG talking. Three matches in the hour seemed like a good number, 2 certainly isn't enough and any more would be pushing it.
BAD: The bumper music was drowing out the talk and that's a big no-no.
When they opened the show they needed to tell us what was on the show ("Today we're going to have matches X, Y and Z, answer your questionas and talk about blah blah.) Knowing what is ahead will keep your audince around. Also teases going into the breaks are needed so we know what is coming up next, again to keep the listener's attention. Radio, whether it's terrestial, satellite or internet is all about keeping the audience for that next segment and teases do just that.
The match flashbacks need more background explaination going into them so we can listen for certain things. Have the host mention to listen for talent X to do this, or so and so has a run-in. He doesn't need to give it away, just tease us a bit. (again with the tease. Sorry to repeat myself but sometimes the tease is more important than the actual content. People will listen through something they don't like if they hear a tease about something they really want to know.)
NIT-PICKING: Both Eric and the SG were too hot. They peaked too often and it gets distracting.
Make the SG stop saying, "UHM" It's a personal peeve, radio people are trained to listen for it so they understand how irritating it sounds. Most people don't know they do it.
The bumper music ran too long. 10 seconds max. This goes for the intro as well, after 10 seconds the talent should be talking and the music should start fading.
Well that's it. Overall it was a very enjoyable and nicely produced. You should be proud for a first try it was damn good. I'd happily listen to another hour.

Is this contest rigged too? How is the context rigged? If our record keeping is correct YOU were picked twice as winner correct? So we hope you're just joking! MOD.
