I'm kinda of taken back a bit. First, let me disclaim this as this post will be outside the Sound Guy character and I'm coming at you as Steve O'Neill --the guy whose labor of love has been DWOW since 1999.
Besides new live events, and new tv ALL of which costs money to do, I sit here wondering what do we do next beside the two things I just listed above? DWOW has always been on a shoe string budget, which everyone will hear the true life story when I can get around to producing the DWOW documentary. I guess I'm saving that in a nut shell as a possible curtain closing for DWOW (the documentary that is). I won't and can't get into details of the last 2-3 years, but when I can talk about it you will know that I --err we weren't just sitting on our azzes waiting for some miracle to happen but I've been actually working on a few pretty amazing things. It's amazing what can get done when there are no conflict of interests going on as in what the past has been at times for DWOW and the managing partners. Managing --that is a funny word for DWOW because one of the reasons we weren't able to punch it through in 2002 when we were catching fire is because of mis-management, or just complete lack-of-management. You see I always wanted to be the man without being the man. Meaning I wanted to produce and create, but I didn't want to be bothered with the business, as I looked to my partner at that time, but it seems he wanted the same thing I wanted and he found himself a better deal (all out in the documentary interview). Now hear me right I don't blame anyone but myself. It has taken me time to realize and go through what I did to step up, dig in, and rely on me to punch this thing through, and we did as it started with the Big Vision National DVD deal --which didn't work out as planned due to them scoring their MTV deal for WSX. Say what you want, but for the few million they got, I would put all my other projects to the side. Things from that point began to come together, and relationships were built. I --we (when I say we I mean DWOW) are not just going to run a live show to run a show. We don't have a straight money mark like other men's or women's companies. Don't fuucckin kid yourself people those companies wouldn't be around if they didn't have their money marks even ones with a national cable deal (and I'm not just talking Wrestlicious, but Ring of Honor too and others). I guess all the companies have their money marks --even DWOW in myself, my former partner at one time, just our pockets were never too deep to really, really get this done. Again not blaming anyone but myself. I know in my heart I am trying 110% giving it everything I got and more from my time, energy, emotions, and even money when I have it to pump back into this thing. I hit a wall, I fall, I get back up --OVER AND OVER AGAIN! Shiit we're still paying off for the May 27th show which the footage came out great for, and to be made public the whole idea and concept behind the show was successful (somewhat). That show wasn't being done strictly for a live event, or PPV, but for our relationship with a production company who want to get behind DWOW in the koolest way I could ever think of and dream of, which only a very few people are privy to minor details of a deal.
We have other things in the works too --big things, and I ain't talking no shiit like "the biggest thing ever, or it will never be same" --well ok I am, I mean REALLY THE SHIIT IS THAT HUGE and you really wouldn't believe it even if I did tell you (ok maybe some of you would). I don't mention it as I don't want to jinx anything. Before we would hype something and it would fall apart and not materialize, so now we just wait it out --hoping and praying, because if IF does happen it REALLY will be the biggest, best, and koolest thing any of you would want for us, or your favorite company! And the haters would hate like they never hated before!
Speaking of your favorite company. I know we don't run normally, I would love to, the girls would love to, but again we are not just running shows to run show. Shimmer, WSU are great wrestling products --but that is it. And people think we are "niche"? Shimmer and WSU have never done what we have. Yea yea we had strippers, midgets, untrained (but entertaining) wrestlers, "dwow is a t&a show" (hey I watch videos and hear things about certain wrestlers doing interviews and alluding to DWOW, I will remember all that --and don't you forget where you worked to get to wherever you may go) --but EVERYONE seems to forget that we had wrestlers FIRST too like: MICKIE JAMES AS ALEXIS LAREE, TALIA (WHO DEBUT HER CAREER IN OUR RING) AKA VELVET SKY, JAZZ, COOKIE (AKA BECKY BAYLESS), ANGEL ORSINI, SIMPLY LUSCIOUS, PERSEPHONE, AMY LEE, BOBCAT, DAWN MARIE, CANDIE, TARA, damn we even had THE FABULOUS MOOLAH AND MAE YOUNG to name a few. And say what you want but NONE of them made a bona-fide star LIKE DWOW DID in the original GI HO!!! OR TAI KILLER WEED OR BRITTNEY THE SCHOOL GIRL. What about ELLE MAE, ISIS, GINGER, and I can go on. There are reasons why certain girls are not signed? We didn't create this world, but in the big leagues of WWE and TNA you better look around and become softer (looks wise) and more beautiful or you won't be getting signed (and Awesome Kong was an exception) ok wanna be divas or knockouts! And next time you are sitting in our locker room, I'll be the one laughing inside. You want to see HOW it really went down take 30 minutes (mini-documentary) and watch this FREE video on DWOW TV, you may be surprised! kck.st/aMLkKa
When OR who did ANY Women's Wrestling promotion launch another women's product WEW (our concept, with our help!) to InDemand and TVN PPV??? NONE!!! National and International DVD and TV deals?? NONE!!! Yes I'm talking WEW --it's in the documentary too! When did any women's company play in front of 20,000 people in a MAJOR arena? NONE!!! How many produced their own actual TV show that people could watch on their HOME TV's and not through some internet connection? NONE!!! So don't tell me about what we aren't or didn't do --cause we did a hell of alot more and accomplished things that all independent companies dream of. And even after it is all said and done WE STILL WILL HAVE ACCOMPLISHED MUCH MORE!
But when you are out of sight, you are out of mind I guess. IF there are any DWOW fans, GLOOW fans out there --step up and be heard! kck.st/aMLkKa
Now, I recently launched a Kickstarter page to help us raise capital so we can release a 10 Disc Multi DVD set. This DVD set would have 52 DWOW TV episodes and bonus footage --we are talking 20 hours of Women's Wrestling video!!! $1 is all it takes to make a pledge. Look at the gifts/rewards --you can even get the DVD set! You can use Kickstarter as a pre-order more or less, plus get free t-shirts, vod's dvds, live appearance, viewing party at your home, or even a dwow live show in your backyard! Make a pledge today and watch ALL the free "backer only" videos we post everyday. I am posting some rare material and even taking requests to post. REMEMBER IF WE DON'T REACH OUR GOAL, YOU ARE NOT CHARGED ANYTHING, BUT YOU GET TO SEE HOURS OF FREE, RARE FOOTAGE. Time is running out we started with 40 days and time is ticking away. Please head over to our page, read what it is all about WE COULD REALLY USE YOUR HELP! kck.st/aMLkKa
So I wonder if we have been gone too long and lost our fan base, or are they still out there. We (DWOW) are using this project to gauge our fans. This is why we do things for the fans. The past 11 years we've had some great fans, we want to know DO YOU GUYS & GIRLS WANT MORE DANGEROUS WOMEN OF WRESTLING??? Speak up NOW! It's time! kck.st/aMLkKa
Thanks for reading.
