DWOW will be going through some changes, and we are not waiting for 2011! We have reviewed certain aspects of our business model and some changes are needed, and will be addressed immediately.
Looking forward to change. Change is good!

Moderator, When, and where will the next DWOW show be taking place? All the info thus far has been somewhat vague! Good question. Now I really don't know to be honest. People --errrr EVERYONE had a shot to do something exciting with an old school style show, but only 8 people stood up and pledged their support. We can't force people to support the product. It seems loud and clear that even though people say that is what they want in a product, there was no support for it (or not nearly enough). mod

Well Mod, I don't really think that you don't have the support based on the attendance at your shows and I THINK you MIGHT get the support if you try it once again but a little bit differently.
The real question is how many of your supporters did you actually reach? The only place that I, for one, heard about what you were trying to do was from this message board which is not very active unless a show is upcoming.
So, here's something that might be worth a try. Run another show at the Arena and promote it as an "Old School GLOOW Show" as that seem to be what your audience may want. Then open up your Kickstarter site maybe a few days before the actual show.
Place flyers on all of the seats promoting your Kickstarter site and explain what you're trying to do.
Perhaps, before the show, play an edited version of your promo piece that you had on the site. Some will watch and others may not but it's probably worth it anyway as I thought it was well done.
Between matches, you could have some of the girls promo your site on the big screen.
By doing the above, you would be hitting your TRUE supporters. The one's who are attending your show which, I believe, are a far larger number than the message board would show. On top of all of that, you'd be promoting to a captive audience.
If, after that, you still don't succeed than maybe you truly don't have the support.
Worth a shot?

Agreed. However, the Arena would draw nothing but DWOW fans where, at a bar, you'd get a mixture of your fans and bar patrons.
Plus, you have the seating at the Arena where you could put the flyers as well as the large screen where you could promo what you were doing. And, as I recall, they had GLOOW shows at the arena a number of times. ;D

And, as I recall, they had GLOOW shows at the arena a number of times. ;D Louie I like the arena for "big shows" but I tend to agree that the bar shows are just better --however the "real" PPV outlets want that kind of feel and not nightclub footage (FACT!). I personally like the Philadelphia National Guard Armory to be honest. If and when we run another big one it will probably be there! As for the fans, I don't really think we have as many as we did before and why? It is because if we don't run live events, updates, pics, dvds, etc... then we just wither away and get by with the stuff we already did. People change, and take up other interests. I also feel that we haven't been 100% with live shows as far as announcing promoting and canceling. While some will portray we like to cancel or aim to cancel, we do not! However, like early on in this company we would just say f it and run the show and figure it out after it was done. I am not and can't do it, and unfortunately it happened in May in a way. HOWEVER, the difference about the May show was it was done for a very big reason and we were able to capture footage for when we start Pay Per View (as we compile footage for our "real" PPV run --coming!). It is like the boy who cried wolf. I or others have hyped, or talked about things and for whatever reasons things didn't materialize and we look like jackazzes --so we stopped telling people things just for the fact we didn't want to let anyone down --STAFF or FANS! So it is hard for the fans to back us 100%, which I understand. I mean for pretty much the last 5 years we've been on hype-life-support in figuring what exactly we would do and what direction we would go with DWOW. We are and MUST do things better, and we want bigger deals. We are trying (and have been trying) to do different things and be different than everyone else --we ALWAYS have been different then everyone --that is ONE thing we WON'T change! AND that is the ONE THING we really have going for us --THERE IS NO OTHER COMPANY LIKE DWOW OUT THERE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD --we are the only ones who do exactly what we do. So we are different and unique. Someone, somewhere will and has taken notice. When it's time YOU WILL ALL KNOW. Me, personally look forward to NEW fans and experiences. To be honest DWOW needs to blow everything up and restart from scratch and build the way it needs to be done, and that is not as easy as it sounds for a plethora of reasons (which I don't want to get into --but it WILL ALL BE IN MY BOOK and the DOCUMENTARY). There are still some really kool things in the works and plans, what will happen and when time will only tell. I have some great ideas, and plans but until the right situation is available we will keep chipping away at things. I have kept and will keep the faith in my vision for DWOW, and I hope some others would have that faith too. On a side note --congratulations to Tai Killer Weed on the birth of her first child. Oh how Tai has grown as a person mentally and emotionally. I am very happy for her in the decisions she has made for herself and family. Congrats Tai. In closing I hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving and thanks for reading this --and commenting if you choose to do so. Steve

Steve, I remember the shows at Tuxedo Junction in Danbury, CT, and G.L.O.O.W./D.W.O.W. used to play in front of the most boisterous, and energetic crowds! Steve, you did a great job getting the crowd all stoked up prior to the show! What D.W.O.W. really needs is a female version of Steve the Sound Guy, and that is none other than Pryme Tyme Amy Lee! She makes the perfect heel, with her bully like persona, her potty mouth, and her dirty ring tactics like pulling hair, pokes to the eyes, and her trademark move, the low blow! I've seen her wrestle for WSU, and she would be a great fit for D.W.O.W.! Also, other wrestlers that would make great heels are Dawn Mae, if she still wrestles, Riptide, and Little Jeanne!

Thank you for your compliments. I'm glad you enjoyed the shows. Amy was and is apart of DWOW, however when we traveled to Danbury, CT most of time she was unable to go due to her day job and our shows up there being on weekdays, so you both missed out lol As far as shows, we are not worried about what other companies are doing or talent for that fact. The day comes that we have a show or shows, or something breaks then we will address and start to figure out what we're doing and with who. SG

The armory show was an all-ages show.
Most of what you say is correct steve, however the problem is that may show wasn't different/unique in yall's way.
You're overly obsessed with this PPV concept. I've mentioned this before, but how many times of you (and I mean it since you actually know him or so I thought) heard paul heyman say ecw died in part becauase they didn't get their PPV money.
If its net based it doesn't matter where its from. Though I get just being on the program guide on peope's cable/sat box is great advertising/visibility unto itself, which is half the battle doing online only stuff.
To that point though am I not the only one that thinks more online content of old stuff should be getting added, not taken away?

The Armory reference was for a major show. Real PPV makes money WEW survived and thrived on it even though their product sucked! I agree that certain aspects need to be worked on, and trust me we have considered many things and will try to do what we can --WHEN and IF there is an ever --ever again lol Also, NEVER listen to Paul Heyman as the bible of truth, as he has diarrhea of the mouth and lied constantly. Dude Paul stiffed a bunch of people go read the bankruptcy hearing list of creditors! Paul Heyman is a great wrestling mind --but horrible business person! Think if he would've folded the company and KEPT THE VIDEO LIBRARY!!! HOW MUCH F'N MONEY HE WOULD'VE MADE and could've paid all his debts off and lived comfortably for the rest of his life JUST ON THAT! TAKE THAT TO THE BANK! I agree with you about older material being added, and I started with most of the Kickstarter promo stuff as you know. We are going to make an effort with that. SG

The bounced heyman checks are of legend steve. I'm pretty sure I've heard others say though they were waiting on money from indemand.
Cancelling the DVDs is a mystery to me since they can basically be made on an on-demand basis. You don't have to have hundreds pre-made.
Particularly since well I'm sure I'm not the only one who basically has to budget these things. For example I've had my eye on the battle of the hooters DVD for years because its the only thing from 2000 or 2001 you are selling.
Based on what I just found ... perhaps you are falling back on an old partner who sold this stuff prior to the exhistance of the VOD store ... they don't have everything though. Before anybody runs out and starts googling I should say I only mention this because the current sale prices on the dwowvod.com are lower than elsewhere with the exception of a certain VOD.

The whole PPV thing with Heyman was a scape goat, as were other things and people. THEY GOT THEIR MONEY FROM PPV --but there is no way for the staff to know so. Only certain people knew it. He just dug himself into a huge hole and couldn't get out that is all. The DVD situation will be addressed eventually, not now though. As for the sales running I would HIGHLY recommend EVERYONE who wants them or have been waiting --the deals won't get any better than there are for DVDS! PLUS ALL DVDS CURRENTLY LISTED ARE GOING OUT OF PRINT (meaning they won't be made after December 31st! Get them now or forever hold your peace! All DVDs and VODS are on sale at ROCK BOTTOM prices UNTIL DECEMBER 26th! We are not doing a Black Friday, or Black Weekend or Pink This or Cyber Monday --we are doing CYBER MONTH of SALES with unbeatable prices. ALL current DVD orders have been submitted today and will be going out asap! sg
